the grand unified theory of sleep

too often i hear people talk of EQ, IQ and all those stupid mathematical ratios which can be taken either way or the other to define what sort of person you really are and what you can become. however, the practicality aspect is sadly missing. now that i am a qualified-certified IQer, i have a license to print theories which i can palm off as the result of deep pedantic thinking.

take today's case, after nearly jerking back to wakefulness after four unsuccessful attemppts to sleep in the second class, i tried distracting myself by indulging in my usual daytime illusions in which i imagine myself to be a hot shot mathematician who lectures while the world listens with bated breath.

so today i came up with the grand unified theory of sleep. lets put the language to an equation now.

Sleep inducing time Ts = k.ku.ki.kt.ks.Tc

where, Ts= time in which sleep is induced; typically in minutes for a first year guy
k= Q's constant of sleep = 3.245
ku= understanding coefficient. i.e the percentage of syllabus you could understand in the class
ki= interest coefficient . i.e. the relative percentage of interest that u have in that subject vis-a-vis other subjects
kt= teacher interest coefficient..the relative grading of the teacher
ks= fraction of sleep undertaken last night. technically ks= (sleep taken)/(usual hours of sleep)
Tc= Time period of the class (in minutes)

i am sure that this tech theory would have a few snags and a few uncorrected coefficients to be put in. so please bear with me while i develop my version of the (probable) Noble-prize winning sleep theory.

P.S. all the formatting has been done by a cool edit extension to mozilla ffox

PS: I think that the term Tc should be in the denominator. Give it a thought. ;)

Absolutely brilliant. Simply Superb. Genius at Work.

I think this equation should factor in the time of day, the climatic conditions (both in and outside the class), and the presence/absence of some of nature's things of beauty in class!! ;)
